Google Spanner announced support for PostgreSQL, validating the importance of such compatibility. But many distributed SQL databases have taken radically different approaches. This has major implications for developers.

We will examine the degree of compatibility across four databases: Google Spanner, Amazon Aurora, CockroachDB, and YugabyteDB.
